  • Member, Executive Committee, National Partnership for Advanced Computing Infrastructure (San Diego Supercomputer Center)
Dr. Charles Gray, Ph.D., Professor, Department of Cell Biology and Neuroscience
  • Research area: Neurophysiology of the mammalian brain. Internationally renown for research into the functional significance of cortical oscillations in the mammalian visual system.
  • Recipient of many awards, including the Klingenstein Fellowship in the Neurosciences, the Sloan Fellowship in the Neurosciences, and the McDonnel-Pew Fellowship in Cognitive Neuroscience.
  • Contributing Editor to The Journal of Computational Neuroscience and Biological Cybernetics.
Dr. Alex Dimitrov:  Alex had his undergraduate education in physics at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohdrisky" in Bulgaria.  After that he continued with his graduate education at the University of Chicago, where he received his M.Sc. in physics and Ph.D. in applied mathematics.  He is working on problems of biological sensory processing of natural stimuli and details of neural coding schemes used in biological nervous systems (the cricket in particular).  Some of the papers he has written can be found here.  Email him at alex at nervana.montana.edu.

Dr. Jeff Heys, Chemical and Biological Engineering

Dr. Tomas Gedeon, Dept. of Mathematical Sciences

Research Faculty

  • Dr. Yikun Huang, Electrical and Computer Engineering. E-mail her at yikun at cns.montana.edu
  • Dr. Rodrigo F. Salazar:  Dynamics of cortical interactions during complex cognitive processes. Email him at rsalazar at nervana.montana.edu.
  • David Arathorn
  • Dr. Graham Cummins

Professional Staff

  • Susan Krall Krueger:  Susan recieved her B.S. in biology and chemistry from Iowa State Univ. 1981, and began working as a histology technician at MSU shortly afterwards. Before joining the CCB in April of 1998, she studied Fetal Alcohol Effects on myelin and glial cells using light and electron microscopy and immunocytochemistry. She is currently a Research Assistant using these techniques and confocal microscopy to study structure-function relationships in the cricket sensory system. Email her at susank at nervana.montana.edu.
  • Ben Livingood:  Master's in computer science, 2002.  Received a B.S. in computer science from Montana State in 1999.  CCB systems administration.

Graduate Students

  • Jonathan Baker:  received B.S. in neuroscience from UC Davis. Email him at jbaker at nervana.montana.edu.
  • Sep Mulder-Rossi
